SRT-4 Intercooler

so for that turbo. what would spool be like on our motors. I want something that holds strong to redline but will be gettin close to full boost b4 3,500-4,000rpms. since im gonna set my rev limit to 7,000 when it gets dynoed to see if its still making power up there.

i wish i wouldve been saving like 2 months ago for this project i wouls snatchthat up. too bad i only decided to start saving and buying parts like 3 days ago. all paychecks from now on are goin to my saving account n gas.

I just checked Nashville pullapart.com and they have a 1992 Saab 9000 and a 1989 Saab 9000 and I know they have T3s. Soo, Im gonna go check that out next weekend. Taking tools with me Im sure they got more cars out there w/ T3s if the Saabs are ripped of their turbos already.

They got a freshly arrived Saab 900 too. arent those turboed.

lemme know if u find some extras, i may get one offa u:P

Yea no problem. Ill buy some extras maybe soo if like one is bad and all. then i would probably rebuild them and sell the one i dont use.

i been reading on homemadeturbo.com and i will be using TurboEdit. And, I read that itrs frre. just have your ecu chipped and then have TE downloaded onto your ecu and tune it like that. Soo, thats pretty cool becasue its like have a ECM for free. Or am I looking and taking in the wrong information?

i duno about that

you dunno about which. gettin 2 turbos and rebuilding them. or the Turbo Edit.

BTW-my friend nitsan who i mentioned on here sold me a header last week(b4 i decided to turbo) has a turbo GS-R EK hatch. he left me a message telling me he has a spare brand new T3 turbo. Im thinking about getting it. But, I’m gonna still check out the junkyards.

i dnt know about the turboedit. im not up on the electronics of turbo yet. thats my next level. i know a little bit about turbos and the setups, now i need to get some knowledge as to turboedit and all this other crap:whip:

if i were u, i’d try to get that t3 if its for a decent price and still get one or two from the junkyard

yea. thats what im planning on. b/c even if he has one of those XS power turbos I’d probably get it. and have one of the other for a back up. reason why i would get the SSAC b/c some of their stuff does last well. I might be one of the lucky ones. So, I’ll try it out for myself.

Yea, I might convert to OBD1. But, what all does that conversion take. So I could run Chrome or something more advanced as far as software.

ok so dodge has someone else make the intercoolers eh?
You think they spent alot having them made… shit neons are like 22k or something?
get off the neon shit

my friend gave like $15-$16,000 for his 2004 SRT-4.

just confirmed the buy of the intercooler. i called his dad. and asked him bout it since my friend devin nevers does what he says. i found some1 sellin a brand new srt4 intercooler NIB for 50 bucks. Since his has 25,000miles on the intercooler when removed. Just figured I could give him 30 for it. Or around there. Not that miles matter for a intercooler unless its like dented in and shit.

to convert all u need is jumper harness, run some extra wires, obd1 §§§§§ and obd1 ecu preferably p28. just takes a lil time. but well worth it.

Im gonna get my car running on boost using Turbo Edit and then set my sights on the conversion.

:tapfing:

ull have to watch the manifold. my buddy has one and wastegate broke off had to reweld and had crack at flange for the head. it worked well for awhile but after heat and weight of turbo it finally gave. lol check out cc fab they have very quality products and decent price. ccfabonline.com i believe it the address

I can’t believe the amount of bullshit that has been spread in this thread already. I’m not trying to step on anybodies toes here, but come-the-fuck-on. You guys are promoting the SS-Autoshit saying their manifolds work great. Well guess what… NOT ON A B SERIES. It is an undeniable fact that they have a shitty flowing design and the pipes are very weak. Over and over again you’ll see welds cracking and shit like the wastegates falling off. The only way to be able to run one is to brace the fuck out of it (including extra brackets going to the motor). Yeah they look like total bling for the first 48 hours on the car. After that they discolor and fall apart. Did I mention that welding stainless is a bit of a bitch as compared to welding mild steel?

Don’t even get me started on the CC-Fab bullshit. That’s a top dollar priced product coming from a worthless mother fucker. Do a search on HMT for hotrex, hell go to about any website and look around for hotrex. He is an ego maniac that decided to start up a shop in his moms garage. His products are crap and he has this rule about not shipping your shit out (I’m talking about you waiting up to a year for something that you paid for immediately). Hotrex is a scammer and was banned from HMT classifieds a long time ago. On top of that he was banned from ever posting on the forum again. He is a meat head steroid freak and thrives off bashing noobs that are there just to ask a question that may show some ignorance for them being so green. Josh (hotrex) has been nothing but a thorn in the side of many of the OGs of the honda boost game. I have zero respect for him, he is maybe entertaining at most when it comes to him completely trash talking some poor kid over the net.

Do what you want to do. Just remember; a fool and his money are soon parted.

Oh yeah, how can you call it a brand new neon intercooler when it has 25k miles on it? There are plenty of solutions out there that can be done for cheap. Hit me up on aim if you want to buy an OBD0->1 complete harness (the same thing rywire charges $150+ for). I have a few parts (and a damn good reputation).

I didnt mean to say it was brand new. my bad. i believe i said it was like 50 bucks on ebay from this one guy selling a brand new one. i believe thats what i said. ill go back and check.

edit. oh i c what you was talking about. i mean i found a brand new one for 50 dollars. but when i said it had 25,000 miles on it I meant my friends that Im buying.

Hey sprayed4door- Do you have any picture of how you routed your intercooler piping. And, any tips on how you did it are much appreciated.

DAdriva: Dont get a junk yard turbo. If I where you I WOULD!! get a xs power turbo with a function 7 oil restrictor. If your going to go turbo dont do it the HMT way. Gets some half way decent products. Im running the ssac 38mm wastegate and the super T70…and guess what…no problems.

The intercooler is a great foundation. I would think its good up to 350whp at least.

2 cent from the turbo guru…

ok. soo those turbos are good for something. everyone says not to run them. but i asked in this thread previously about using the oil restrictors n white90 said dont do it. but, hey ur the turbo guru. ill listen to you.

where can i find oil restrictors for sale at. i went and checked out my friends extra turbo he will sell to me. its an XS power .48/.42 turbo T3 he will sell it to me for $150. Its brand new.
