SSautochrome Experience

i am thinking of purhurseing the same kit, but I have a/C and dont really want to get rip of it, what are the mod thats require to keep the a/c??? they said it needs slim fan, mod compressor and etc… do i really have to relocate the compressor?

i used hardware bolts too, and they wouldnt tighten right, and they stretched with the heat. its all good though just replaced the cat bolts with the new ones (which needed done anyway) and used the old ones by the muffler

I recommend there items they are very helpful ive got a handful of emails from them when I had concerns about fitment ect they were responding within a couple hours and were more then happy to help.

yea if ur willing to give them ur money, hey maybe i could help u with something… ps. they dont honor their warranty…
to each their own. in my opinion do it right the first time. and Im not saying spend a ridiculous amount of money on a sidewinder crazy manifold that will cost u 2 g’s but gain only 5 hp over a ssauto… im just saying ull see its not worth it.

The kit I bought was from a fellow g2ic member, it wasnt directly from them so they werent just being nice cause they got my money, They didnt. But i did buy a 3" DP from them.

I called their shop awhile back and asked them what I could do to get the kit sent to me in Canada. I asked if there was anything I could to make this job easier or cheaper. The guy on the phone gave me a step by step process of locating a local shop to do certain modifications and what car I could look for in the parts yard to locate a turbo and related parts. I didnt buy anything from him, but certainly enjoyed learning what I could do for cheaper! Nice country folks, IMO.

Im just sick of hearing people bad mouth companies because of something they read, if you havent experienced it first hand, where does that give you a position to criticize a company or their products / service.

( this message isnt directed to anyone in general )

i know that you guys are talking ss autochrome, but has anyone on here had experience with the rev-hard stage 2 kit?

also maybe you can help me out with this… i plan on boring my motor out due to the fact that the motor i got had a seized piston… should i go up to 84mm or stay as small as possible? and what do you guys think of getting a block gaurd? i would like to run roughly 10-15 psi and any input on what all mods you guys think that i should do would be helpful… i don’t mean to jack anyones thread by no means but seems like you all have more experience with FI than i currently do

thanks

here is the turbo kit:

block gaurd:

i just put mine on had to do some minor changes but it fit nice. running rough but it is my tps so tomorrow i am reseting the ecm and seeing if it fix’s it i will post any prob. i have but so far it’s ok

ok guys sorry for jacking this thread and asking about the rev-hard kit… i have done some research and i think that i am going to stay NA only because of funding… good luck to everyone out there with FI

Oh yeah, just remembered and figured id post this up. my freind has a built ls/vtec setup and i traded him the t3/to4e turbo that came with my xspower kit for a ebay “turbonetics” t3 turbo. well he put down 347whp at 18lbs on the xspower turbo and it was beat the hell out of on a regular basis and held up fine. so if your looking for boost on a budget id say goin xspower is fine, only thing i would worry about is the manifold cracking but i boost 7lbs daily on mine and not a problem with it yet! and if it does crack just weld it up and ride out

Ka-boom she goes…

Hey guys,

I know its been a while since I updated. I finally got it all together, took it to get my 3" mandrel bent exhaust put on. It Blew up 12 hrs later. To add to the pain, while I went away (another business trip) it seems that some punks decided to break into my car and steal my gauges, stereo amp, and electronic multimeter , ect… piss me off.

NOW, undestand this was NOT due to my SSautorochrome kit. It was due to the fact I hooked up my wastegate backwards, and boosted to infinity. My gauge was slow reading, and the last number I saw was 25psi.

See pics of the damage… I have since put a new engine in and getting ready for a dyno tune.

Holly crack batman:stare:

Opps!!

sorry to hear u got rip off, freaking stupid punks!!!

damn, 25 PSi…lol what were you thinking? sorry to hear about that. build to handle more and have fun. don’t give up!!!

That shit’ll buff out.

 Thats what im talkin about

25 Vs 5 psi. Now it feels like a stone … LOL

Got in the car today, started to tune a little. Running about 5-6 psi. Its MUCh slower feeling  lol.

Got TurboEdit and Logworks (innovative) working on the laptop: checking my WideBand I have about 12.5’s across the board. Which is nice. Although I’ll probably shoot for 12 flat. (play it safe)

Everything is looking up. I think now that felt 25 psi (for an instant) I am going to build for it… Lets see if this XS Power stuff holds long enough for me to get that far  LOL

Here goes my SS experience

back when i had my gsr i ran the first manifold with no issues…then i bought a stainless steel o2 housing with no issues so i went out and spent 350 on a evo3 16g GT turbo guess what happen?

Im running 20 psi with no issues so far plus it came with all the hardware!

thats the worst sleeve I have ever seen. Makes you want to cry
