Dyno Time

Ok guys, the first test for the SSautochrome stuff. Its already done in 1 motor and its still going strong. I booked an hour of Dyno time for tommorrow, I hope to post some good numbers.

wow…obviously SSautochrome is not AS BAD as everyone makes it out to be. probably, mostly has to deal w/ proper tuning and installation…minus the manifold cracks that happen occasionally

i cant wait to see if it lasts.

Do the SSAC kits require removal of A/C and PS?

the ones ive seen dont. for example, the ones with this manifold dont: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/jdm-Honda-B16-B18-B-Series-Civic-Integra-Turbo-Manifold_W0QQitemZ330017497899QQihZ014QQcategoryZ33742QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

217 hp, 195 ft-lbs

Well I came back from the Dyno. I was self tuning (I am new!) and got 217 hp, 195 ft-lbs. I know its not spectacular, but ok for a safe baseline. Thats running 10 psi of boost. This was done on a Mustang Dyno, I have heard the numbers are lower typically, but I have no clue. I hope to run the 1/4 soon then I can compare

My AFR’s are about 12 ± 0.25 steady. I figure there is a little room for improvement, but I rather stay safe for a while. Its fast enough for now

For what is worth, Boost starts to build 3psi@ 3000 and 10psi @ 4000. T3/T4 57 trim.

I will post the sheet soon as I can.

Good to see that you got that motor/kit running. I just stumbled upon this thread. I’m wondering why the sleeve gave before the piston did - I’m used to seeing cracked ringlands on stock pistons (I’m running one right now).

Your numbers aren’t that bad, just needs a little bit of tuning and maybe bump the timing up and you’ll start to see more. I believe you can easily pull 250whp on 10psi if you play with the basemap long enough.

As far as ss-auto-shit goes, the guy is trying to change his reputation and figures that he can get jeff (abaz) over at HMT to help him out; I would never run one of his manifolds just out of principle… but I hear good things about one of their bigger turbos, I think it was the 60-1 or some shit.

Thanks for keeping the crowd informed.

I agree white90. That motor and kit should be putting out at least 250-260. If its an ls you probably shouldn’t take out any timing.

SSAC seems to be realizing there past mistakes and slowly correcting small problems.

It looks as if this kit could be ok for me. As I only want 5-6psi Becuase I dont want some huge #'s
I’m running a B16A swap from HMO.
Maybe I’ll look into it.

Bump for more people.

Yeah I must say I wasnt super happy with the numbers. However, what dyno are these other cars basing their numbers on? I hear a Mustang Dyno is at a minum 5% different than a dynojet. As much as 15% difference!!!.

I dont want this to become a Dyno thread, thats been discussed other places. Just bringing it up. I’ll post some 1/4 mile ETs, which dont lie.

So far its holding up, took a M3’s on the hwy the other night…so fun!

Attached : my dyno sheet from the other day.

Blue: torque (195 max)
Pink: HP (217 max)
Green: Boost (10.7 max)
L. Blue: A/F… its not 21… lol. The on board A/f screwed up, after we switched to mine.
It was a solid 11.5-12 across the board, which I know can be dialed up a bit, but I gotta be conservative (wife wont be happy with another engine!)

Does anyone know any more about this manifold that SS just started making??

From what Ive heard its a sturdy built peice but has anyone used it??

meet07, ive got a friend that ran that manifold for a few months. i will try and get in contact with him and ask him what he thought of it. ive seen some high hp dsm’s with a manifold like this and was very good manifold. maybe this one will be good for hondas.

it seems to be pretty sturdy.

and yes IWNT400WHP…please do get in touch with him asap. Find out what turbo he is running as well.

meet07 i will try today.

meet07
the turbo was a t3/t4 57trim, ssac. he made 210 whp 197trq on 6lbs and also on a fmu. on a dyno dynamics. i havent yet got ahold of him but thats what it made. but he took it off to sell a few months later. but i will let you how well he liked the manifold when he gets back to me.

I have that manifold pictured above, but i havnt used it yet. It seems very solid, but my turbo does not fit because the compressor housing hits the block.

take the dremel to that peice of the block and trim it up.

hey meet if you go on hmt well here his forsale add. it also has a link to pics of the install. sorry he didnt get back in contact with me. but those manifold look like the realy good ones that are used on dsm’s.

meet07 my friend said that the manifold made 22.5 more whp than his log manifold did and he liked it alot.
