RECOVERED in Richmond on Monday. Cops say no engine, flat tires, no tranny, no battery, no front seats. I’m gonna look at it Friday and take some pics. AAA now owns the car but I’m gonna ask if I can grab a few parts off it myself. Think they will let me?
You should be able to buy it back for a certain amount… you should ask.
PlatinumG2 called that location.
he must be involved :fingban:
^^ cant hate on him… richmond is just known for cars to get stolen here but im sorry mann.
find out how much maybe I’ll buy it.
Stay tuned fellas…I was just told by AAA that the car was recovered 10/28/2008 but only identified 3/30/2009. She was saying the car might’ve been burned? No details as of yet…
F’in cops!! How long does it take to run a VIN check on a recovered car?
5 months! One month to do the check, and 4 to do the donut break.
Ok here are pics of the car at the auction yard…the thief drove it around as their own as there was a viper alarm on it which I didn’t have, the interior was replaced with a leather one.
And I found this sticker on the car, I certainly didn’t put it there…
Thats really wierd man. Well its looks like alot of the stuff is still good. Just remember it could of been worse! Plus u got leather now…
that looks like it was personal i mean why break the valve cover and scrape up the sides like that?
dam bro…im sorry to see that…but like what was stated above…it could have been a whole lot worse…give that shop a call and try to find out who brought it there if so
wow dude… that sucks.
if you have aaa they will take care of you as they did me you can probley buy it back for around 400 if it was a clean title before it was stolen…as mine got stolen in oct. 08 an was found in richmond …best of luck to you …if you buy it back you will half to smog it again do a brake an light chck on it …but could make your money back by sellin it for parts …if you have question let me know i just went thru it in oct. my self
wow that sucks man. Look it on the bright side, at less you got an alarm now. Just got to buy the pager and reprogram it. I say buy it back, sell the parts, find a new db2 shell and swap parts over it.

Exactly what I was thinking. That would take balls! I would assume that if you stole a car you’d want to strip it and ditch the shell ASAP!
In regard to buying that back… it’s obviously not very salvageable. Getting that front end to be straight would be quite a task, looks like much more than just the radiator support is damaged. And as commented before, the valve cover is broken. But that doesn’t appear to be vandalism, I’d assume it happend in the accident. Good chance that engine/trans mounts are also broken or may have been stripped from the block/transmission case. There doesn’t look to be that much left of any value which isn’t damaged. Look at the passenger seat, that’s even ruined.
It’s still worth looking into though. I bought my friend’s totalled GSR for $700 from the insurance company back in 2001 and it was well worth it. That car was less damaged in the front than yours (still broke the front trans mount right out of the metal) but the rest of the exterior was in much worse shape.
If anyone knows anything about the shop PM me
It looks to me like the only good part left on the car is the drivers side wiper arm. Oh wait my bad it appears to be gone. Sorry about your loss I hope the find the dick that look it. :gunleft:
I hope the cops will follow up with the employees of 510. Maybe they will find something.
Wow man sorry you got jacked.
Btw theres no PM’s on this site.
