I just cleaned out my iacv i used the degreaser and I changed the two coolant hoses. And while I was at it changed the cooant. It still does but less. I was just wondering though could it be because I didn’t bleed my coolant system? and if it could be that where do I do it on the b20b. Because I looked in the haynes book I don’t see that damn screw on the my b20b.
got my new o2 sensor in and the idle dooesnt bounce at all anymore…and i have no more cel

Does anybody know the answer to this question.
you can just run your car, eventually all the air on the lines will make it to the radiator and stay there since the air will stay up, onto of the water. Then, just open the radiator and pour coolant mix to it. I did it that way when i replaced my coolant.
i have a b20 also, i just swapped the upper radiator neck on the head with the one from my b18. If you don’t have your old motor around then you just let the car run with the rad cap off.
i just cleaned mine out with some simple green, and holy shit did it clean way more than the carb cleaner!! The rag that i was using is BLACK with all the crap that came out of this little thing. It runs great too.
I have the bouncing idle problem…
It started off around a year ago when after i drove for around 2 hours. But now it does it pretty much soon as i turn the car on even when it is cold…
I think i might need to replace my timing belts would this corse my problem?
I dont want to take off my IACV in the result of it not helping the problem.Knowing me ill break 10 other things as i take it off and have to replace them all at the same time.
Any idea’s ?
A bad timing belt could most definately cause such issues. Replace that before it snaps on you. They only last for about 100k (miles) or so at best.
^^ getting it done soon so hopefully it fixes my problem!!
I have leftover Purple Power from clearing my tails, you think it’d be ok to use to clean this?
this is happening on my current DA, so i’m going to have to do this asap again arghh :gay:
just wanna thank the creator of this thread, if he’s still around, for this tip writeup, i finally finished cleaning my iacv today and it improved my idle so much. cheers
Yeah Bacardi, purple power would work.
yea
i think this might fix my b18a1’s idling problems thanks bro:rockon:
I have read this thread over and see a lot of problems are bouncing idles. I have already adjusted the white screw on the fitv and my idle when cold is beautiful at 1500 rpms. My warm (normal operating) idle stays at about the same as the cold idle, right around 1500. With the idle adjust screw all the way in I can only get it down to about 1200 rpms.
My question is: does this tip solve high warm idles. If I do this could it fix the problem with my warm idle at 1500 rpms.

i turned the screw on the TB i think it was counter clockwise after warming the car up and now my car idles at 850 when warmed all the way. then turned it off and reset my ecu.

You might want to check for vacuum problems if you’re idle is staying that high, even after adjustment.
Later,

I did this over the weekend and WOW what a difference! I actually found it easier to get at it from under the car. I was also greeted with a coolant shower but it was worth it for the results. Thanks for the tip!
mine was the fitv… fixed it in 10 mins… and idles smooth
cool, this fixes my famous “honda” idle. i hate it. vroom-boom, vroom-boom, vroom-boom.
