The JeLLie-mobile is back in business.

Sorry if you already said it but from what car did you get this Intake box? Also, is where the intake tube connect to the box in the center or offset?

Thanks

i thought i was the only one that didnt know this lol…i wanna know too

Smoother turns, shorter turn radius, additional camber adjustability. I guess I’ll really find out when I install them. The website says it allows you to lower your car with stock like geometry.
Looks good. How do you plan on mounting the ITR air box?

I have a Samco intake for sale, if you’re interested: http://hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=3111604

I’m still looking for a good ~3" intake that’ll put the air filter where the battery normally is. Right now I have one of those DC cold-air intakes with a the Vibrant bellmouth air filter.
I took a little look in the bay to get some ideas, I might have to shave off the rear mount to help it fit in the bay better. I really need to get the ITR intake tube and mock it up to check to see how far out the box will sit before I come up with too many plans. I am interested in the intake tube, but let me see how much I was going to pay for mine before I commit to that one. For you I would suggest http://www.go-autoworks.com the guys there can make just about anything custom from what I have heard. Tell them specifically what you want, maybe give them some measurements if you can. I think an intake from them was going to be $150.

Thanks

This is the OEM ITR box, the intake tube will connect in the center.

I’ll check them out, thanks for the tip!

I have extended ball joints in my car, my impression… I have power steering still, it made steering feel a lot quicker… which I don’t like. It’s too sensitive. I think for no power steering this would be good though.

Also, I think it also might have a side effect of pushing the upper arm up closer to the shock towers. So I think anything lower than ~2" and a bump in the road will cause them to slam the shock towers. For these two reasons, I’m going to take them out and put stock ball joints back in.

Some more updates.

Here is the color difference between the front fenders and the doors. I know it’s hard to see through the image, but it’s pretty visible IMO in person.

Polished the first and second tube, looks a little better but i’ll keep working on it.

before

after

I know it’s kinda hard to see but right next to the PR3 stamp I did a little polish to remove some of the accumulation. Seems to work just fine, but I can tell this is going to take forever.

Parts that arrived (more like tools)

Samco Intake Tube (DC)

Just wanted to see if I could use this for anything.

Grandma gave it to me, she has a ton of pampered chef stuff, I guess she doesn’t have a use for this.

Just a little shot of the car. This side is missing a fender liner. I have it here, but it came ripped so I have to get it exchanged.

looks good. How did you go about cleaning and polishing bolts?

This is interesting to know. Thank you

Love the updates in this thread

SEM Trim Black is awesome… though for certain applications. I noticed it has a fairly glossy finish to it, as well as being very smooth. So spraying things that are textured is, interesting. PlastiDip works better for textured pieces. Keep both products around and you’ll be set.

I’ve yet to use anything by the Chemical Guys… any thoughts so far? It’s just about that time where cars will stay clean for longer than a day or two. Need to get prepared lol.

I didn’t actually polish the bolts, just cleaned them. It’s basically a lot of time with degreaser and a toothbrush. I bought all the different degreasers to see which one works best at removing years of dirt and grease white still preserving the bolt.

I’ll have to purchase some plastidip and give it a try. For the most part I think I am going to try to clean something and restore it the ways I know before I paint it. But I wanted to make sure I had the paint there i case I needed it. Chemical guys is good. I haven’t gotten used to any of their polishing products, I’d much rather stick with meguiars for that. But I do order CG for a lot of other things. Wax, quick detail spray, towels (lots a and lots of towels)dressings etc. but if I wanted to go to one website for everything I wanted it would be autogeek.net. There’s always a 20% off with free shipping coupon just around the corner. And if they don’t have what you want, good luck finding it.

I go to the chemical guys actual warehouse a lot since it’s down the street from me and when I buy stuff I just ask for a deal and they usually give it to me by just asking. I’ve never paid full price for anything there. I like the way that plasti-dip looks on the mud guards though more than the SEM trim paint.

I went down there once, but I wasnt feeling well, and it was kind of a long drive for me. But they have a shit ton of stuff.

Lookin good

Damn doggie ur car has came along way since the rev auto days good to see it’s finally getting where you wanted it to be.

Yeah buddy. Definitely happy to get this thing up to where I want it to be. But I still have plenty far to go for what I want as a “final” product.

Thank you.

Here are the newest updates.

Ran to Lowes & Picked up a few items I could use for the build. Thanks for the tip on the plasti-dip.

If you guys wonder why it takes me so long just to get a couple of real simple, small things done. It’s because everytime I get ready to work on the car, I end up having to clean something in the garage. Even dirty bottles bother me.

A couple things arrived. (something else just arrived, but I didn’t take a picture yet) I think I’m set for any type of OEM part that I want to make a fresh black now. (I will still be poser coating a few things)

Took all the detailing stuff I got, and made the dilution ratios I wanted.

Cleaned the windshield wiper parts that sit under the cowl. Here’s the befores

Afters

I wanted to test some cleaning options on the IM. I’ve been wanting to clean the whole motor, I know it’s going to take forever, but I wanted to start some testing to see how I wanted to clean it. I did not clean the whole thing, just the very top (easiest part to clean). I think there is still some perfecting to do but I am much happier with the afters, than the befores.

Befores

Afters

For those who said they wanted more full shots. I will probably take it out and get some outside pictures on Friday, but no guarantees!

I worked the graveyard shift, and I have another coming up in a few hours so time for me to get some ZZZs. I made another Largeish Honda order so once that comes in I should start having some better updates.

Good updates, no matter how small they seem!

Makes me wish I had a garage to work on the car in… I always have to take mine to the shop, kind of a pain to clear room to work on personal stuff.

What else did you get ordered from Honda?

I don’t remember specifically everything, but mainly I got a new valve cover and some misc pieces. I end up ordering a ton of parts because I try to buy everything in the list (bolts, washers etc). I usually build my orders over a few weeks while I’m working on the car and then take note of parts I need. That’s why a lot of times I end up not remembering what I ordered until it arrives.

Do I see an hpi a-spec te37 drift tire?

Someone has been playing with RC cars a bit. Now I know where to go to figure out what is wrong with my car though.
