The road to 300whp

why aebs manifold??? did you already have it or something you bought. The victory x by far is the best.

yea, I already had it. I got it for like $120, isnt the Victory X like $400+? We’re not all rich bastards like you… lol. But seriously, there are a lot of parts I would buy differently if I had the $$$. Being a 20 year old student with no financial support from anyone but himself, upgrades like these take a little while. Because of the motor I now have, I’m now broke and in debt. Sure is fun tho!

victor x not victory. lol. its ok still a good mani man. i am trying to find info on a design for a manifold i found a while back. it had a normal plenum and a tapered plenum off that. the normal plenum went to the runners, the tapered plenum was for the throttle body. if only i could find the info on it again.

Finally got some pics, just need to host them somewhere. Suggestions?

Well, I still have a LONG way to go as far as finishing details (ie: Wire looming and re-routing some of the wires, that nasty radiator over-flow hose, stuff like that).

Motor currently has 270 miles on it and feels VERY solid. This break in procedure is torture…Stay below 4k till 500 miles, stay below 6k till 1000. This is taking so damn long cuz my work is only about 3 miles away, and my girlfriend is only 4 miles away. Plus I’m not supposed to go on the freeway, so that only leaveds city driving on my own time, of which I have very little. Slowly but surely I guess.

You whine about me posting pics, and when I do, nobody cares…:frowning:

they still make needle torque wrenches?

The problem with the click type torque wrenches is that they need to be calibrated frequently, which is not cheap. According to my engine blueprinting book, the “old fashioned” needle type torque wrenches work fine and never need recalibration.

probably because they are inaccurate no matter what lol. jk. i have a snap on click type set, i think i may call and see how often it is supposed to be calibrated. either that or upgrade to the snap on digital. :ohyeah:
is this a gsr or did you paint an ls aztec green. it looks like its primer in the pic of it in ur garage, and it looks like you removed the abs.

I did remove the ABS when I did the post theft-recovery restoration. It is an Aztec Green GSR, I just accidently converted to OBD0 when I was replacing all the hacked up wiring. Otherwise its about 90% GSR parts that I put back on there. The primered car in the garage is the car that I borrowed the motor from so I could rebuild my own.

This is how my friend got the car back when it was stolen 1 week after he bought it. I picked it up from him “as is” for $200

not a bad deal at all

you found an aztec green hood used? or bought a new one and had it painted. that car is clean as shit.

I totally agree.

My significant other could possibly catch me in bed with a 2,600 lb woman. :manual:

^LOL!!! The car had a carbon fiber hood when it was stolen, so the kid I bought the car from gave me the orginal one when I bought the car.

isnt there machining involved when using the GSR girdle on the LS?

Do you have a link to your theft recovery rebuild thread?

yes, there was additional machine work to get the gsr girdle to work. Had to have the gsr mains machined down and an align bore done. It was cheaper than buying a billet 5-point bolt-in girdle, but not by a whole lot. I rebuilt the car before joining the forum, and I’ve got tons of pics of the project, but I’ll post them when I do a dedicated before and after thread of my car, which shouldn’t be too long from now.

one day when im in WI maybe i’ll stop by to meet another aztecgsr…looks really good hope to see your car someday @ a meet.:salute:

Anything new Da1spaz247??? Wanting to see the progress??
