turbo with a/c

can the poor aussie get a hand?

I’m lookng to keep the a/c as well, is it only possible by building a custom manifold?

How about this one, anybody tried this?

The setup in the link posted does not have a radiator.
I want to run a full size rad, duel slim fans.
(fluidyne and slim fans)

do u need to run dual fans or do they really help?

i mean will it b fine with just 1

correct me if i’m wrong but that second fan is mounted for the a/c condenser. the actual rad fan is the one on the pass side.

BBP, I think you are correct.
1 for the rad… and 1 for the AC …
If we are planning to keep the AC, the plans should include both fans.
We have to compromise by using slim fans.
I have a Fluidyne rad with slims fans mounted… would it help if I measure the depth of the combo and provide the value?

well you can get your stock ls manifold cut the bottom of the cast and weld on a t3 flange on it there … u keep the ps and ac and all i have to say is… fuck the ching chong meow manifolds they wont even hold up for a month… how do i know? tried it and 1 month later big crack

if you want to keep your a/c just make your own manifold and if you dont know how well… just stick with your log mani and up the boost

Can’t believe no one has already posted this, but DRAG makes a g2 turbo kit with a less than desirable manifold but it does let you keep air conditioning.

Do you have some pics of that kit on your DA? I know board member Ralfy aka redline, had ac and power steering in his DB1 for a while.

a-man to answer your question, it looks like you will be very limited in what you can use. I’m not sure if the manifold on that kit will place the turbo in a position where it won’t obstruct anything. You may be better of with a log manifold and getting creative with how you route your charge piping. You may want to consider the DRAG kit that was posted above since it lets you keep your PS and A/c. I had a friend a few years back take me for a spin in his DA with one installed and it was pretty quick.

sry to open old thread but i have kept a/c and p/s with ramhorn manifold… a little stuffing around and modifying manifold but worht it

I’ve decided on the Greddy 18G kit with modified wastegate port.
It allows me to retain the a/c and p/s with a full size fluidyne radiator and 2 slim fans.
I’m now considering utilizing a e-cutout right after the 2" Greddy dp.
Good luck guys.

nice one any pics?

Nope, no pics yet.
After the New Year.

now im no A/c and P/s Turbo Oligist but i accually have a t3 manifold that is cast iron and it is made for you to keep your a/c and P/s but i could totaly be wrong, i would need others input to confirm or not.

you should hit up jdmbeef on here his cousin is running boost with ac and ps or hit him up at his shop lokwerkz.com

that should work the ugr manifold does to with stock rad to…

that cast one is ok but there are better cast ones on the market

Spoolin’ makes a Quick 4 AC which is supposed to let you retain the A/C while having a more ram horn style manifold.

I have their log manifold, almost positive it’s compatible with A/C and P/S. I’m taking both out anyway. Might look into an A/C setup later.

yeh thats sweet manfold hey…
