walbro fuel pump install

im having problems finding where and how to install the fuel pump, i just got… I use to remember where it was but i cant remember for the life of me… can some one please tell me where and what i need … Thanx

its in the gas tank. and on 90-93 integra’s, you must remove the gas tank to replace the pump.

if you want to go the easy way

this was way easier, I actually did it with a rubber mallet and a sharp knife. Took me about 10 min to cut the hole. Kind of scary when you think that the sheet metal is easier to peel back than a tin can. Just try not to go very deep when cutting the access hole or you’ll BE F&(*# by hitting the fuel lines! I wish i would have done this to a TEG before. There would be a WALBRO in every GEN 2 Ive owned. Thank You typeRwhite93

cant you just take the seats out and get it from there?

no i already did it, and you have to drop the tank

nope. honda went out of there way to make it as complicated as possible.

No what you see under your rear seat is the sending unit. Integra’s have the pump separate from the sending unit. I ended up having to buy new gas tank straps cause mine were rusted.

Civics have them both in one under the seat, Much easier.

no prob, i appreciate sharing:salute:

anymore pics of the cut in the floor i need to do this my lines are rusty and i dont wanna chance it

Your fucking stupid.

Right on, do it the right way

I wish you would have hit the fuel lines, so you could learn your lesson and do it correctly. Don’t be so lazy!

All you’re doing is help newbs ruin perfectly good bodys, stop.

If you want some pictures of how to properly remove the gas tank, send me an email I can send you pdf’s from the factory manual.

This is getting ridiculous, drop your tank to remove your fuel pump people! It’s really not that hard and shows off your extreme laziness.

I am wondering if you see what i see when i get under that tank. If i touch anything this will break by the crunchy rusty hoses and tnak brakets. Weather here makes a 15year old car a real ruin. A 4 inch hole is the best thing to do, do what you want with your car. By the way if you want to change mine, come here whenever you want.

then maybe that’s a sign that you should change a couple parts?? my teg has spent 18 years in quebec and yet i was able to remove my tank to install a walbro fuel pump. there’s no excuse.

Agreed!, If your lines are rusty to shit then you should fix that properly first. You shouldn’t be trying to get other people to hack up their cars becuase you were too lazy to fix your car the right way.

my 0.02 cents.

If you feel like cutting up your car, go ahead. :tsk: How’s the road noise after?

Honestly, it’s not that difficult to drop the tank. Gives you a chance to look things over too. Also, I would replace all the fuel lines while I’m in there. They are 20 years old.

That’s what I would do…

damn, i thought you could just go from the top. so i have to go under the car and drop the whole fuel tank just to change the pump?!? if thats the right way then ill be doing that. its not like im in a rush to get my car back on the road anyways!

Damn right. Imagine how fun it is dropping a 23 gallon tank that’s half full just to replace the fuel pump. Pain in the ass!

i did cut the access panel, and im glad i did. After having to drop the tank about 2-3 times. Also, my car is nowhere in good condition, so that had a lot to do with it.
