DC Sport and the RS*R are the quietest in my experience. I’ve had both, they sound almost exactly the same. The DC Sport is what I have now, it is as silent if not more at idle, and cruising on the highway it’s barely noticable. Only when you WOT the engine do you hear a growl. The growl is deep, none of that bee hum sound =) The exhaust is Stainless Steal, nice and shiny, looks great =) The tip is sweet too.

dc owns on a mildly tuned ls.

greddy sp here. wish it was 60mm like the mx tho. i love the sound and looks so much i will not part with it, not even with its 50mm pipes for boost.

its definitely all about the muffler piece. the rest can be put together easily.

wont make much difference now since u got ur MX, but as alot of people say, RSR is great… quiet when i want it quiet, a slight rumble when i want to run at higher rpm’s… and roars when im at wop. i havent experienced any other system, i’ve gone from stock to RSR… so yea… these are the older ones too, not the newer ones… havent really heard any reviews on them…
HTH though…
just keep them in mind… you can get great deals on them if you know the right people…

Slightley Louder Than Stock (Exhaust)

I have a universal muffler on my car and it is just too loud when i’m driving down to philly. Does anyone know of a good exhust or muffler that will give me a slightly louder sound than the stock muffler did that won’t give me a headache? Thanks

try putting on a resonator

greddy sp/mx, rsr, dc, thermal r&d…

RS*R Ex-Mag (NOT the Ex-Mag GTII) is the same as stock when you’re not on it…but it opens up more if you gas it. I have one and I’m happy with the sound.

when i was searching for my exhaust i heard bad things about thermal R&D, just an fyi. cannot go wrong w/ greddy.

i got a magnaflow exhaust and it sounds kool…not loud at all, could hardly hear it (at normal driving) just dont floor it… then it tends to turn heads mostly cops… then again i do live in los angeles, the city of currupt cops… theyll pull you over for anything over here
damn i gotta move

I’ve had a Thermal system on my car for 3 years, not a single problem. Top quality exhaust systems!

I am running with a dynomax superturbo muffler
it is slightly louder than stock and gives a nice tone with the intake yet you can hear the intake over the exhaust and it most likely will not attract unwanted attention unless you are being a jerk

it is a good deal for the money yet its only the muffler so if you wanted larger piping then you would have to mix and match or do a custom setup on for your exhaust

Get a flowmaster 40 series a big ugly red cherry bomb. I have no cat the bomb in reverse and the flowmaster. Big torque and hp gains, almost as quiet as stock. Killer set up

:werd: I just got mine installed yesterday. Very nice indeed.

umm… $110 (can.)

where did ya get it from for that price?

Man… this is possibly the longest lasting thread in the history…

the first post is from march of 2002

Go with Magnaflow (lifetime warranty).

I upgraded to 2-1/4" pipe, added a 12" resonator, 18" magnaflow and a 3-12" tip with resonated oval surround… fits the bumper perfect.

main pipe - $110
Muffler - $169
resonator - $25
already had the 2-1/4" pipe around the axle and tail.
tip - $56

those costs - installed.

Sweet sound, sweet performance, sweet deal in my opinion.

I liked my flowmaster for awhile, till I blew a baffle. Now I’ve seen the light.

Find a good shop and bs with the welders. They’ll help you out / hook you up.
Good Luck

:fucksuvs:

I’ve got the Greddy MX, along with a CAI and a header, and It’s pretty loud. My brother has a Tanabe Hyper Medallion on his stock G2 and its way quieter than mine.

muffler

OEM works good. Nice and quiet.
