oemacuraparts needs to hurry up with my parts mang…dam near 2weeks now
That’ll happen when they have to get stuff shipped in from other dealerships. At least you know that you have some brand new shiny Acura parts coming in.
Got it aligned today at a Dodge dealership and he did exactly what I asked which is nice. Front camber ended up at -2.2 on the front (Skunk2 upper control arms maxed) and -1.5 in the rear and the toe at zero everywhere except for the left rear that was at 0.05 (again adjustment maxed out). Here’s hoping it stops eating its tires like they’re free.
Went to local body shop to fix the deep scratches on my lower bumper. Then I decided to order a Grillcraft sport grille from Grille Inserts|4WO. I chose the silver finish.
broke the infamous guide on my drivers window
now it rattles and lets alot of air in while i drive
acura has discontinued it, and we have no local wreckers anymore
Got my DA on the ground after being on jackstands for months.
New parts:
Fortune Auto 500’s w/ Swift Springs (12k/8k)
Energy Suspension Bushings in rear
Hardrace RTA’s
ARP Extended Studs (rear only right now)
Rear Calipers
New Rotors and pads all around
Ktuned Pro Circuit Shifter
U-Joint rebuild
Got the 225/45/17 Azenis on my 17x9 +43 CCW Classic Race Version wheels. Running a 5mm spacer up front, all fenders rolled, touch of pull in rear. Setup with finger gap in rear and 1/2 finger in front. Car is has the track ready look!
Up next:
Plastidip (car will be a track car…not painting it)
DIY Front Splitter
Seats
Cage
Nice to see it on the ground again. Owned it for nearly two years and have put 24 miles on it.
Finally installed my oil pressure gauge.
Cracked / broke my A pillar plastic trim
I swapped out my oil Px switch after my oil light flashed on the drive home a few days ago. On the upside I found out my car can get on a flat deck quite nicely with the front bumper off and a couple of 2x4s.
Had to helicoil the threads to be able to bolt my starter in place because the previius owner stripped the threads and rigged it to stay in place
picked up a turbo kit…
stay tuned
My “not so good” passenger fender fits like crap. Anyone have a good OEM passenger fender? Color indifferent but must be clean!
Drove it to work:cool:
Well after being in long term storage or the past 9 years I decided to get my car back on the road. Today I dropped the tank, blew out the fuel lines and replaced the fuel filter. Tomorrow I will pick up a new battery and a few gallons of gas and give her a good cleaning. My kids have been bugging me to take them for a ride in it. The last time my son rode in it he was 4 years old.
Wow, I didn’t know your car was in storage for that period of time! Do you store it on your property or do you have offsite storage of some type? I keep wanting to buy more cars but also don’t like the idea of storing somewhere other than my garage.
It was stored in my garage on rolling jackstands. My 2 CRXs stay outside and my 66 Mustang is in the tent garage in my back yard. Soon the Si and the Integra will share the garage.
I pulled the cluster apart and turned down the LEDs behind the gauges and swapped out the top lights with some new #74 bulbs so it won’t be so bright. I originally had an LED strip up top that had 12 LEDs on it and it was obnoxious to drive at night even on full dim. I actually got the speedo cable back in without having to pull it off the VSS which was a nice surprise. I got it started at the cluster then just reached under the dash and pushed on the cable and to my surprise I heard the sweet sweet click of the clip engaging.
I should have known things went to easy last time with the cluster. I overtorqued the fuel gauge screws and twisted off one of the leads so my gauge was stuck above full. I pulled the fuel gauge out and swapped in a spare I had laying around after sanding down the back. Now I can’t get the speedo cable back in so I’m taking an angry smoke/forum break. I really should do the S2000 cluster swap to get rid of the stupid cable.
Edit: I got the cable engaged this time but no satisfying click. The speedo is live and it fully seated so I guess it worked out. Now my hands and wrists look like I got into a fist fight with an angry cat.
Drove the car into town for first time since owning…coil went bad.
Time for some new ignition components so we can get the big stuff moving!

I’ve not gotten into the habit of making sure the cable is attached at the cluster first since that’s the hardest part. Getting the cable into the VSS is usually cake, and even if the cable doesn’t mate with the speedo properly but as long as the sheath is clicked into the cluster you can rotate the cable by hand from the VSS end and get it mated properly. For me this provides the best option which doesn’t involve slicing up my forearms on the dash.
Ya I did that once and spent more time trying to get that silly boot over the clip on the VSS than I did just reaching my gangly wrists/hands behind the cluster. I whole heartily agree though that way is a much more reassuring way of doing it because you know that it has engaged properly and there tends to be less blood, tears and sweat.
