I have been running hps on eibach sportlines now for around 8 months and for what they are I am more then happy. I got them new for free so I couldnt complain. I will also say that with this setup my car rides at near stock comfort if that means anything to some of you. The rest of my suspension includes an st rear swaybar, full poly bushings w/oem ta bushings, and spc rear ucas.

Anyone using the GC / Koni Yellows with teh GC Tophat?
well so far looks like im gettin the illum and im not sure ont eh springs yet im not looking for anything lower then a 2.0 drop what you recomend for a good price(remember i dnt have alot)
bump
H&R race springs 2.25" front and 2" in rear. thats what imma ride on. along with tokico illuminas.
im on skunk2 full coilovers, i think its just over a 2inch drop, tho it might be closer to 2.5-3"
well my stock shocks were all blown so I don’t know how really stock is but the blues are confortable not to jumpy not to soft I guess 3… im waiting on my illuminas now though cuz now I feel every damn bump both front shocks are blown…
well im going to quote myself I just finnished taking out my blue front shocks and to my amazement they are not blown. My bumpstops totally desintegrated and all I found were little pieces of them. I used the stock ones so that could by why. Now the front is a little higher and the car feel ways better after I installed my new illuminas that got here on monday finally!!
Anyone want some front shocks give me offers… im selling my front ones.
Re: Skunk2 Full Coilovers
Doonbar, how do you like your Skunk2 full coilovers? I’ve been looking at those but haven’t read too many opinions about them.
+1 for Tokico blues. Like has been said, they’re great inexpensive shocks for mild drops. I’m running on Eibach Pros. I love it although i want to go lower eventually… assuming i keep my 'teg that long.
gr2’s + hr sports.

considering i still have stock swaybars and no strut bars, handling has improve a lot, minimal body roll, way less understeer, good turn in, u can adjust the height of course and pretty low as well, more so than in my pics, for a daily driver and nothing else might be a bit rough, springs rates are 8Front and 6Rear so pretty stiff, u can feel all the bumps n wat not, but faster entry and exit speeds, and when u have smooth roads its sweet as… if only they were damper adjustable, oh well. only had them for 2 weeks and no problems so far…
Sorry for the sizes… These are the ksport coils, they aren’t that bad if you get the off the shelf rates and
swap the springs. Then you’ll have spring rates of ~400lb f / ~600lb r which results in a pretty decent
autocross set-up if you like a lot of rotation.
Tanabe Sustec Pro S-s for DC2
It doesn’t squat like that anymore since I put in the ITR rear sway
Im running theses,
on Koni yellows, with Energy Suspension Master Kit bushings and boy does it handle like its on rails.
Quick Pics.
When I first got the car it was i had Koni yellows and Neuspeed and for whatever reason the speeds started to sag dunno why
Now im using the koni Yellows with the GC coilovers no top hats tho
car is pretty much slammed and for how low it is driving in ottawa its actually a pretty good ride I dont have any complaints
Are you speaking from experiance?
There are a lot of people talking shit about HP’s but how many of them have/had them?
I’m on H&R race and Tokico HP’s… It’s been 2 years and about 30,000miles and they aren’t blown out. The ride is a little stiff but there is no body roll and they corner great.
I think it was well worth the $250 shipped for them. The only issue i have is the H&R’s are sagging in the rear.
Hey AlmtrDB2 do you autocross? I haven’t seen you at any of the ccr events. You should come. It would be nice to see anoth G2 there.
Currently Im running GC coilovers w/ tokico illuminas but Im thinking about a change and going to Koni yellows or switching to Tein SS’s
i’ve had the blues. barely a step up from stock but better than kyb GR2s.
- a full coilover system like apexi, hks, skunk2, ksport, etc.
- koni yellows + eibach springs or skunk2/ground control coilovers
- illuminas + the above
- kyb agxs + above
- koni reds and above
- tokico blues + above
- Stock
shy away from sprint, tien, omnipower, d2, dropzone, and ebay. yes yes flame suit on. i have friends that have used them and no one likes them. both tien and omnipowers dont fit like they should, the tien entry level full coilovers ride like shit. i’ll take my koni yellows and skunk2 coilovers over any of those others in a heartbeat.
whats the reason they dont like Sprint?
