90DA-Pedro: If you look at my very 1st post with the pics and all it says that my manifold is a Spark Racing. No you wont bea able to find it on ebay b/c its not a cheap ebay manifold. Any why would my car smoke in vtec. If your trying to get at the xs power turboes being chea and smoking…??? No the seals are good for now. Im running a Function 7 oil restrictor.
Tchleung: I redid partial throttle and everything looks ok except 10-19 vac for 1500-3500rpms…Im cleaning that up tonight…the comp died…but what would cause breaking up in boost around 7psi and up. Thats the only problem I have. Have new §§§§§, msd cap and external coil with the NGK 7Eplugs?? any ideas.
Timing was advanced at the §§§§§ about 4-5 degrees…ouch… I down the gap from the normal 35-28. Thanx for all the help but now I need a clucth I think. Seems to be slipping.
My shit cut off on me 3 times today and wont start again. I think im screwed until tomm. Threw a code 1,2, & 7. And im getting no fuel pressure. Im confused b/c I have a new walbro 255??

300 whp is pushing it a shit load. No matter what, u are pushing DOUBLE what those stock rods are supposed to hold. also nowadays 300 whp can mean many things with all of these bullshit dynos. even with the best tuner in the world i hope u have another car for when she blows up. it is bound to happen if u drive it liberally.
when u start entering that 300 hp range u also need to think of bigger injectors and def a walbro.
lmk how that turbo holds up. ive been thinking of buying an SSAC, money is strict.
stock ls has much less then 150 whp. so yea, thats a LOT for the stock rods. even more then DOUBLE!!!
im really confident about honda motors. My motor is in great shape. Im not the type to beat on her b/c why…I have boost but 300-350 is the limit on stock internals. Im not concerned about injectors right now b/c I dont plan on running anything more than say 300-310 or so. the 450’s give out around 325 or so and I do have a pump???Put it this way im looking for 12’s. Dont really care about the hp…it will be there with the big turbo and high reving b16. The turbo is holding up fine of coarse b/c I did my homework.
91dags: Yeah im not real big into the meets anymore…unless there are some other turbo DAs around or some fast car to race.
my clucth is slipping bad when vtec and boost hits…Waiting on my 11.5 flywheel. Its all going in on Saturday. That and my 6-puck sprung. Hopefully I will make it out to the local hang out spots and video tape some racing… I have yet to race this thing.
i guess enjoy it while it lasts. I bet it will be 2 months before ur looking for a rebuild and a reasonable power goal.

Did you tune BRE yourself? Just wondering if there any issues i might run into while running it on a PR3. Ill be street tuning on a wideband with a VAFC2 at first, im wondering if BRE will accept changes made by the vafc. Any advice you could throw at me i would appreciate.
The whole reason ill be running BRE is to reset the rev limiter (9k), set launch control, remove speed limiter (damn jdm ecu), and disable 2nd O2 sensor.

AllMotorDA: There is NO point in using the VAFC to tune the car when you are chipped for BRE. And yes, BRE will accept changes made by the AFC, just like any stock ECU would. But you’re still advancing timing a shitload by using the AFC to tune. Just ditch it and use the BRE by itself and tune with that. Sell the VAFC for money.
Well the VAFC is to get by at first. The problem is that its hard tryig to find a tuner thats familiar with pre obd1 ecu’s. Im going to have to make some calls and see who might be able to tune on obd0.
i did the same with my car, used a VAFC II and an AEM wideband to tune for temporary driving around. i still had semi-good power out of it, but it’s not that great because for turbo, you can have different boost/vacuum levels @ different rpm’s even though you try to set the low/high throttle settings well enough.
i had my settings at 20 low, 40 high
and it would be fine if i was just cruising, getting on it, or driving lightly. i dont suggest driving on it too much on a stock cat either.
best way to run it, i’ve partially tuned my car so far with BRE, using a Moates Ostrich Emulator, and the wideband. i just need to get on a dyno now to tune ignition. but my car is running pretty good for now.
Tchleung like always is right. Your timing will be way to advanced. And in my opinion whats the purpose of burning bre to a chip and using the vafc. Use one or the other…BRE(hint…hint). Its not that hard tuning your car. Your going to have to play with a little but if your good at researching there are a bunch of articles that will start you off with a pretty good foundation.

AllMotorDA: im almost certain that the b16 basemap would pretty much be all you need. Depending on your mods you may need to add a little fuel to a couple of cells but thats about it. Thats assuming you have itr valvetrain.

For an update for those wondering about my setup and how everything is going. I finnally got my 11.5 flywheel in on saturday that I have been waiting for. I already had the 6 puck sprung disc with the ACT pressure plate. Went to put everything on Sunday to descovered that I was sent the wrong clucth disc. WTF!!!So I wont get my car running until friday or so. If everything works well I should have 2 races organized on video this weekend. One with a lsvtec greddy kit, 20G and a decked out EVO. EVO mods are unknown but I heard everything under the hood has been replaced with aftermarket.
