yes you cant run turboedit if your obd1 I would use crome over anything else

if your boosted use arp or GE head studs you dont want the head to start lifting

aw k that make sense

what kind of headgaskets is everyone running? oem or aftermarket? and if aftermarket what works the best for you?

OEM, OEM and OEM, I have used Felpro(autozone) in the past and it worked for me also.

Felpro on this one

But OEM is always good if your at the stock bore size

Thanks for the info. One less thing to spend money on. I decided on the peak boost kit with the ram horn manifold. Also I am not doing anything to the outside and going to just focus on the motor and the inside. Going with non-reclining Brides and the back seats will match the fronts and also the door panel inserts. Should look sick when I get done. One last question though. Will the auto power race roll bar with the detachable harness bar and cross brace allow me to keep the back seats in the car, or will I have to take them out, which I am hoping I dont have to? Granted no one will be riding back there, but I am wanting to avoid having the rear gutted.

so in other words ur trying to do everything u can to make it a race car, but ur going to keep the extra weight of the back seats? ur confusing my friend.

well i have 2 motors being built. the one thats in the car is going to stay completely factory other than im adding a mitsu 2g eclipse factory turbo and the things that go with it. i am also building a 2.1L b18a1 to take its place in the next year.

It is going to serve a multitude of purposes. Ocasional track time (not the strip), maybe some shows, take out to downtown london, and such. But it wont be my daily driver though. Once it gets done and I get to where I am going I will post up what it tops out at. Going to hit the autbahn and try to hang with the european cars that aren’t insanely fast, so I need it to be safe. Last time I was over there visiting I saw 2 bimmers that were being plucked off the shoulder from rolling several times and if that happens to me I want to be as safe as possible.

one thing to say… roll cage. just incase the unexpected unexpectedly happens.

U should check the laws over there first on whats legal and whats not.

I dont think a cage is on that list.

i dont see why a cage wouldnt be legal. maybe thats just europes way of cutting down on the population. lol

roll cages are not street legal anywhere they can cause bad injuries in a crash.

if made wrong yes, but they also can prevent if done right.

Even if made the correct way roll cages are not Street legal/DOT approved end of story. Have you ever been in a crash with a full cage? Why do you think SA helmets are only good for one crash Have only way cages prevent death or major head trauma is with a helmet.

Either post a link to back this claim up or GTFO. Have YOU been in a crash with a full cage? Also where in my posts did it say a full cage was going in??? Nowhere, now did it. It said a race roll bar with detachable crossbar and detachble harness brace. Also post a link where it says they are illegal in the UK for street use or STFU and GTFO.

Unless they changed the law in the past year, Roll cages in CA are perfectly legal. you might not like the unwanted attention that it get’s and you can be pulled over for looking like a “racer type” but there isn’t any mention in the CA vehicle or highway code regarding rollbars, you can even weld your doors shut and crawl through the windows if you wanted. the only thing about rollbars or cages is that it cannot obstruct the view of the drive…i.e. crossbars, X-braces and such…

another thing would be your insurance company coverage. you would need to find out if they will still cover you

The only things that needs to be legal in regards to a cage and harness is the harness its self. The only one I have found that is DOT approved is the ones made by Scoth, or have ever you spell it, because they have a button that is red that says push.

japanjay, your absolutely right. there 2" wide and has the red button
